Ashleigh holds a Bachelor Degree in Sport Management and has over 14 years’ experience working within the sport and recreation industry. Her main focus has been in the commercial development of sport, through event management, marketing, project management and strategic partnerships. Ashleigh has developed her skills through employment at State Sporting Associations, National not-for-profit organisations and a professional sporting team.
Ashleigh started triathlon in 2005 after moving from a swimming background. Although not currently participating in the sport, Ashleigh is still an engaged and avid supporter of the sport through family members participation.
Cathy was first introduced to triathlon through one of Vicki Delves’ WAT courses and participated for many years enjoying the friendship and healthy lifestyle that goes with the sport.
After completing a Technical Officials course in 2009, Cathy joined Triathlon Western Australia in her current role of Sanctioning Officer. She is now a Level 2 or RTO TA Official and a Level 1 ITU.
Cathy works closely with race directors and assists them to meet their requirements to do with documentation and insurance in order for events to be sanctioned. Cathy also liaises with club committee members and assists them through the process of lodging documents for club run events. She also looks after the Technical courses in WA and rosters officials for sanctioned events in WA.
One of Cathy’s favourite aspects of her role is travelling to officiate at interstate and overseas events. Her goal at the moment is to officiate at 70.3 Grand Final, Kona or Roth. She also enjoys being part of events, talking to athletes and club members and enjoying the events atmosphere.
Programs and Pathways Manager
Mike has been an active member of the triathlon community since 2005 as an athlete and a coach with Stadium Triathlon Club, Break Your Limits Triathlon Club and Pursuit Coaching which he continues to run. During this time Mike has been passionate about education and developing athletes to higher levels and will look to bring the same drive to the Junior Development Program and Coach Development.
Tarquin joined Triathlon Western Australia part time in November 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Curtin University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Professional Writing and Publishing.
In 2018, Tarquin completed a nine-month internship with Clubs WA and has spent several years in volunteer roles with community clubs. Outside of Triathlon WA, Tarquin holds the position of Communications and Events Coordinator for Masters Swimming Western Australia.
Membership & Marketing Manager
Emily joined Triathlon WA in September 2021. She is the main contact for all club-related enquiries and state-based membership enquiries, as well as participation programs. Emily also coordinates and facilitates the marketing and communications for the services offered by Triathlon WA.
At the end of 2017, Emily completed a Bachelor of Sport, Recreation and Event Management at Edith Cowan University. Since graduating, Emily has worked for a number of sporting organisations including Hockey WA, the West Australian Football Commission and the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club. From a young age, sport has always been one of Emily’s passions so she decided to pursue a career in the industry to help provide participation opportunities in the community.
