The Triathlon WA Awards and Recognition Framework outlines the ways in which Triathlon WA will reward and recognise the athletes and individuals that have recorded outstanding achievements or have made a significant contribution to the sport of triathlon in Western Australia.
The Framework was developed by the Triathlon WA Honours Committee, and supersedes the previous Annual Awards, Triathlete of the Year, Life Member and Patron Policies, to ensure a consistent and fair process is employed in identifying those individuals worthy of recognition, and to also ensure the appropriate level of acknowledgement is given.
Notable inclusions are:
- Streamlining the eligibility, criteria, nomination and selection processes to maintain consistency and fairness, and synergy with National Awards (where appropriate);
- New awards, including:
- Event of the YearClub Initiative of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- New recognition awards for age group and elite athletes; and
- Redefinition of the duration criteria for Life Membership and Service to Sport Awards to recognise the changing landscape of the volunteer sector.
Nominations are now open until 30 April 2026 for the following Awards:
- Individual Performance of the Year
- Steve Barrie Award (Technical Official of the Year)
- Coach of the Year
- Service to Sport
- Event of the Year
