The WA Triathlon Hall of Fame has been established to honour those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the sport of triathlon and multisport in Western Australia.
Induction into the WA Triathlon Hall of Fame is based upon excellence, rather than simply long and loyal service to the sport. Excellence and impact can be evidenced by regular and outstanding representation at State, National or International levels, individual awards, and/or outstanding success and achievement on the state, national or international stage, or from a particularly outstanding achievement that warrants special recognition. The bar for selection is intentionally set very high.
On 25 July, 10 individuals will be inducted as foundation members of the WA Triathlon Hall of Fame, as part of the celebration of 40 years of triathlon in this state. These individuals have made outstanding contributions to the sport across a range of categories – as athlete, coach, technical official or administrator and, in some cases, across multiple categories. Only one candidate automatically qualified for selection, having already been induced into the AusTriathlon Hall of Fame.
The Triathlon WA Board is therefore thrilled to announce Peter Robertson as an inaugural member of the WA Triathlon Hall of Fame. He sat down with The West Australian journalist, Glen Quartermaine, last week for this fantastic insight into his career, retirement, and what the recognition means to him, long after his ‘proper’ retirement. Pete will be travelling up to join us on the night to accept his induction in person.

This is NOT our usual annual awards, so you won’t want to miss it. The voice of WA Triathlon, Simon Beaumont, will be our MC for the night, and his band, The Good Things, will be providing the live entertainment, with plenty of time to reminisce about how good you REALLY were! So, dust off your finery and your dancing shoes and join us for what will be an epic celebration that won’t be repeated for another 5 years.
