The next instalment in our State Series will be this Saturday, 27 February with the Joondalup Aquathlon Classic on what is set to be a great day for racing. Athletes will be vying for points in both the Junior and Senior State Series, in pursuit of the prestigious Triathlete of the Year awards for 2020/21.

The Open field will provide a great show with some of WA’s star athletes lining up on the start line. Expect to see a tight race in the men’s field between Adam White, Zeke Tinley and Jonathan Sammut. The women’s field will also produce an exciting race with Felicity Sheedy-Ryan, Aleisha Wesley and Madison Toovey set to battle it out. The last time these athletes raced in the State Series was the Foreshore Triathlon Rockingham which saw Sammut and Sheedy-Ryan take out the top spots.

In the Age Group categories, a number of State Series regulars and high performers are expected to line up again. Leaders in a number of Age Groups will look to extend their leads with top points including Aidan Clark, Alex Black, Loic Draoulec, Daniel Wedge, Craig Appleby, Kevin White, Andrew Johns, Rebecca Kierath, Michelle Carranza, Emma Moon, Rebecca Lewis and Suzanne Hall.

The Junior State Series will also be hotly contested, with points leaders in all Age Group competing: Indie Arbuckle, James Kjellgren-Lewis, Emily White, Joshua Neervoort, Rebecca Puccini, and Will Cramsie.

This will mark race three of four for their series for our juniors, so may prove to be an important win for those chasing the Triathlete of the Year titles.

Thank you to all supporters of the event, including Team XTR and the City of Joondalup.
