Last weekend saw Race Six of the Club Event Series run and won in the most scenic of locations, the picturesque Karri Valley Resort near Pemberton. Not surprisingly, Stadium Triathlon Club’s much-loved Karri Valley Triathlon drew over 250 athletes from sixteen of our affiliated clubs to race either a short or long course event.
The Series leader board has now been updated. Our top three remains the same as it was after Race Five with Series leader UWA Triathlon Club still enjoying a sizeable buffer over Perth Hills Triathlon Club of more than 30 points. Perth Hills has also widened the gap to Exceed Triathlon Clubslightly. Mandurah Triathlon Club holds onto fourth and, while Fremantle Triathlon Club remains in fifth, a good turnout at Karri Valley saw them rack up more than 10 points.
Remember, every member who participates in a Club Event Series race earns points for their club and points accrued are weighted against the total club membership. The Club with the most points at the end of the Series will receive a $1000 development grant.
Your next chance to earn Series points is this weekend’s Mullaloo Triathlon hosted by XTR Triathlon Club at Tom Simpson Park, Mullaloo Beach. With great weather forecast, distances to suit everyone (there’s even a duathlon option), plus a host of trophies, medals and prizes up for grabs, Mullaloo is definitely worth a look!
