Triathlon WA would like to express our sadness at the announcement that TriEvents have ceased operations effective from 2 July 2018.

TriEvents commenced operations in 2001 and had grown to be one of the premier sports event management companies in the state.  From starting out with a primary focus on triathlon, they had expanded to events such as HBF Run for a Reason, the Rottnest Channel Swim and the Dwellingup 100 Mountain Bike Classic.

They have delivered hundreds of state, national and international events and activities.  Most people who have been involved in triathlon in WA will have been part of a TriEvents race.  From a first experience at an enticer or Women’s triathlon to the much loved TriEvents Series, TriEvents could always be relied upon for their professionalism and skill.

In 2016 Seven West Media bought out TriEvents and whilst the bulk of the operational staff remained the same, the business has faced a difficult 24 months.  The most recent season saw a number of their events adversely affected by weather and  combined with a decline in participation have contributed to the events of the past few days.

We would like to thank Dave Budge and all his team for their outstanding contribution to sport and wish them well for the future.

Looking forward to the new season, we would like to reassure our members that there will be a full race calendar for the coming season.  We are excited to announce there will be a new format for the State Series for the 2018/2019 season consisting of 6-7 races, including numerous State Championship races.  We are also currently in negotiation with race directors for allocation of World Championship Age Group Qualifying status.

It is expected that 2018/2019 Race Calendar will be available by the end of July.
