UPDATE 14 April 2020
Triathlon Australia today announced they will be extending the withdrawal of sanctioning from all events and races scheduled on our calendar until 30 June 2020.
The extension is in line with the recent announcement from the International Triathlon Union who suspended all activities due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation globally.
Triathlon Australia CEO Miles Stewart said there was no option but to suspend racing right now.
“Today we met with race directors to inform them of the decision and discuss ways in which we can continue to work with them during this period to ensure we can all emerge from this with a viable industry. It will require the support of the entire triathlon community to help return our sport to it’s very best, but that time is down the track for now,” said Stewart.
We look forward to the return of events in the near future as I’m sure so many of you do also. In the meantime, we hope you are still managing some training or exercise to help keep you motivated.
