The triathlon season is well underway with a great range of events and some exciting racing already taking place.

I recently attended the Triathlon Australia National Leaders meeting in Melbourne where a range of issues were discussed by TA and State and Territory Triathlon Association senior managers. Issues discussed included national strategies for membership, club development, coach development and digital platforms.  TWA will continue to lead nationally the ongoing implementation of the Top Club Program in conjunction with the WA Sports Federation. In the coach development area, TWA will be facilitating coach development sessions on the first weekend in February 2019 presented by TA. Further information will be distributed to all Clubs when logistics are confirmed.

TWA President, Ross Pedlow, and I attended the TA Annual General Meeting where new President, Michelle Cooper, was elected. The TA Board and STTA Presidents then participated in a round-table discussion on various issues around the sport including information from Sport Australia on its future plans.

A number of meetings have occurred recently regarding the Sunsmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon with the race directors, The Event Team, and key partners including the City of Busselton. Some changes are being considered which will be confirmed in the coming months.

Best wishes to all participates for upcoming events and I look forward to meeting members and Club representatives as I attend various events in coming weeks.
