Welcome back for 2019.
I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year period and ready to burn off any over indulgence with the exciting events coming up.
Firstly congratulations to our talented young athletes who performed well at Runaway Bay in Queensland in December and Canberra in January.
We have had a very successful and exciting start to the year with Oceanic Olympic Distance and TWA Development Race at Whitford Nodes, and the traditional Australia Day Triathlon that included the State Sprints Championships. Congratulations to our State Champions in Luke Bate and Liv Smith, and also to the race organisers, Oceanic Triathlon Club and Steve Doyle at Sports Performance Management, and the many volunteers who made these events such a great success. And best wishes to Alan Hartley for a speedy recovery.
Over the coming months there a range of great events in both metropolitan and regional locations culminating with TWA’s 2019 SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon on Saturday 4 May. Some exciting changes and initiatives will be implemented this year for Busselton with changes to the swim and run course, an exciting new incentive program for Clubs to get their members involved, and for the first time, twelve ambassadors have been appointed who will be keeping us up to date with their Busselton preparation via social media.
From an administration perspective, Clubs are reminded that the 30 June 2019 deadline is fast approaching for the submission of revised Constitutions to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety to comply with the Associations Incorporation Act 2015. Please contact the TWA office if you need any assistance.
Keep enjoying and striving.
