Expression of Interest - TWA Subcommittees

Triathlon Western Australia (TWA) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to join two newly formed Subcommittees, Women in Triathlon Working Group and Board Nominations Subcommittee. The positions are for 24-month term.

Triathlon WA supports the WA Government’s policy on gender diversity and is focused on meeting all Women in Leadership targets. 

Women in Triathlon Working Group (4 – 7 positions available)

ROLE: The TWA Women in Triathlon Working Group is a subcommittee that provides advice to the Triathlon WA Board. The committee aims to develop policies and initiatives to promote and advance female triathlon participation throughout WA.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS (Criteria) 
Committee members will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following: 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues relevant to women’s participation in sport and leadership 
  • An interest and involvement in local and/or broader community engagement, advocacy, networks or activities 
  • The ability to contribute to the strategic development of gender equity initiatives 
  • Direct links to local triathlon community (participation, officiating, administration, coaching etc) 
  • Experience and/or understanding of the role of an advisory committee 
  • Marketing or business development within not-for-profit organisations

Board Nominations Committee ( 3 – 5 positions available)

ROLE: The TWA Board Nominations Committee is a subcommittee that provides advice and recommendation to the Triathlon WA Board. The committee aims to oversee and monitor the boards performance, succession planning, and TWA’s diversity policy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS (Criteria)
Committee members will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following:
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary governance practices 
  • Previous experience as a non-executive director on a not-for-profit board
  • Understanding of board diversity and Women in Leadership Targets 
  • Background in Human Resources and/or recruiting 
  • Experience and/or understanding of the role of an advisory committee
