We are just over halfway through the Club Event Series for the 2017/18 season, with this weekends Karri Valley Triathlon race 6 in the 9 race series.
Rockingham Tri Club welcomed well over 100 individual athletes to the stunning Shoalwater Islands Marine Park last Sunday for their Shoalwater Classic race.
A total of twelve clubs were represented and it was brilliant to see so many athletes enjoying some great standard distance racing and also adding to their club’s tally of Club Event Series points.
The Series leader board has been updated and UWA Triathlon Club have extended their lead over second place, now enjoying a substantial buffer of thirty plus points. Perth Hills Triathlon Club have made a big move and overtaken Exceed Triathlon Club to claim second place.
Break Your Limits have dropped out of the top five and Mandurah Triathlon Club have moved in. And, with three of the last four Series races taking place in regional locations it will be interesting to see what our reigning champions, Esperance Triathlon Club, can do.
Remember, every member who participates in a Club Event Series race earns points for their club and points accrued are weighted against the total club membership. The Club with the most points at the end of the Series will receive a $1000 development grant.
Your next opportunity to earn Series points is this coming weekend’s Karri Valley Triathlon hosted by Stadium Tri-Club in Pemberton. As well as being set in a beautiful location, Karri Valley promises distances to suit everyone from a cracking short course to a challenging long course, there's even a TRYStars kids’ triathlon.
