The 2019/2020 Triathlete of the Year has now been finalised with the confirmation that Exceed Triathlon Club will be running the State Duathlon Championships. This year there will be State Championship races in all major disciplines including Aquathlon, Duathlon, Sprint, Standard, Long Course and Cross Tri. We are also pleased to announce that 3 events have been given World Age Group Qualifying Event status – the Sprint, Standard and Cross Tri Championships.
For the Triathlete of the Year Series, points are awarded to the first ten eligible TWA members in the Open and age group categories in each race as shown in the table. You must be a member at the time of competing and your best 3 results will count towards your tally.
In the Open category there is prize money up for grabs in the State Sprint, State Standard and State Long Course events. Prize money will go to the top 3 male and female competitors. There is also prize money for the top 3 athletes in the overall Triathlete of the Year Series Award which will be awarded at the Triathlon WA Annual Awards.
There are some great new events in the series this year and there’s plenty of opportunity to get points on the board. So make sure you get out there and support these events and be in the running for the prestigious title of Triathlete of the Year.
