In the 2017-18 season the Triathlete of the Year Series (formerly the State Series) will be comprised of the five State Championship events for Open and Age Group athletes. The series will consist of:

  1. State Duathlon Championship - City of Armadale Duathlon
  2. State Sprint Championship - City of Joondalup Triathlon Race 1
  3. State Standard Distance Championship - Bunbury City Classic
  4. State Cross Triathlon Championship - X-Adventure Dunsborough
  5. State Long course Championship - SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton

With more than $17,000 in awards and prize money up for grabs, the Triathlete of the Year Series attracts WA’s best Open and Age-Group triathletes. As well as the winners being crowned the State Champion for the distance, points are awarded to the top 10 TWA members in each age group or open category for each race.  These points accrue across the five races and, at the end of the season, the top age group and open athletes will be crowned TWA Triathlete of the Year.
